Custom commerce
Some commerce experiences don't exist out of the box.
Haven Design Express is an art-gallery extension of Haven Home. Gapstow built the eCommerce experience from concept through completion.
Two pieces of functionality defined the build: helping customers envision artwork in their own spaces, and a tool for assembling complete curated furniture sets sold as kits.
The way the business sells
Selling art and selling a curated room are not the same transaction as selling a single product. One depends on whether a customer can picture the piece on their own wall. The other depends on presenting a group of items — furniture, accents, artwork and related pieces — as one considered decision rather than a cart full of parts.
Neither is a standard Shopify behaviour, and neither becomes one by installing an app that almost fits.
What we built
- 01
Artwork visualization
Functionality that lets customers envision artwork in their own spaces before buying.
- 02
Curated set builder
A sophisticated tool for assembling complete curated sets sold as kits, which can include furniture, accents, artwork and related pieces.
The rest of the experience — the storefront, merchandising and the path to checkout — was designed and built around those two behaviours rather than bolted on beside them.
Concept through completion
Custom commerce work rarely survives a handoff between the people who design it and the people who build it. Gapstow ran both, which kept the hard questions — what happens when a kit item is out of stock, how the set is presented, what the customer sees first — in one conversation.
Sometimes the business model should shape the software.

If the way you sell doesn't match the way the platform sells, the gap is a build — not a plugin.
